Teacher Appreciation Week

I actually love Teacher Appreciation Week. I love giving daily gifts and making the teachers feel special and appreciated. However, I don't love spending a lot of money! I spent less than $10.00 on the gifts I sent in every day (other than the day I bought lunch, but I could have easily done something different), and that was for the teacher and two aides!

On Monday we sent in a package of popcorn with a tag that said "for a very POP!ular teacher! Love, Abigail". The tag was a free printable from http://domesticatedlady.com/tag/teacher/. We tied it up with some ribbon that we had from a different project. We got LOTS of comments from this one!

On Tuesday I picked up lunch from McAlister's for the teacher and two aides.

On Wednesday we sent in a small tube of hand lotion. I traced Abigail's hand, cut it out, taped it to the lotion with this saying "Ms. Catalano, You deserve a hand! Love, Abigail"

On Thursday we sent in little Chinese take-out boxes with hard candy inside. The tag said "I'm so fortunate to have you as my teacher! Love, Abigail"

On Friday we sent in a box of strawberries to the teacher. We made a tag and tied it on with some red string. The tag said "I couldn't have picked a better teacher!" Love, Abigail".

I really love how they all turned out! The teacher and aides really seemed to like them as well!

The last day of second grade was just a few weeks ago. Abigail wanted to give her teacher and all of her classmates a little gift. So, with the help of pinterest we came up with these!

All of her classmates were given Pop Rocks candy that said "Hope your summer ROCKS! Love, Abigail".

And keeping with our "rocks" theme, we gave her teacher an iTunes gift card with the same saying!

Abigail was SO excited to give out the gifts! We will be doing this again next year for sure!

Teacher Appreciation Week ~ PTO

I have been away from my blog for WAY too long!! I am back and ready to start again!!

I am on the PTO for my daughter's school, and we love our teachers! Teacher Appreciation Week was last month, and I wanted to share what we did for our staff. I thought they turned out so cute! We got the ideas from Pinterest, but changed it up a bit and made it our own!

On Monday they received these awesome tumbler cups with our school name and logo. Attached was a Crystal Light packet and note that said "Thanks for quenching Northfield's thirst for knowledge! ~ PTO".

On Tuesday they received breakfast provided by the school.

On Wednesday they received these packages of Extra gum along with a note that said "The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is the little EXTRA! Thanks for always going the extra mile for Northfield Elementary! ~ PTO"

On Thursday they received their favorite Sonic drinks from the school.

And on Friday we provided them with a BBQ luncheon.

I think it was a great week, and I hope they enjoyed their gifts! Our teachers work SO hard and give so much, it's nice to give back to them!

Tomorrow I will post pictures of what I personally gave to my daughter's teacher and the aides for Teacher Appreciation Week!! I'm really excited about them as well!!

Project 365 - Day 19 and 20

Well, at least I am still taking my pictures every day even if they aren't getting uploaded!!

Project 365 - Day 20 - 100 Days of School!
All of the Kindergarten classes are celebrating the 100th day of school. Each child was assigned a number to decorate and they are going to hang all 100 numbers on the wall. Abigail had the number 17 to decorate. We drew out several different ideas and this is the one we ended up picking. Two number people standing out in the snow!! I thought it turned out super cute even if I have to say so myself!!

Project 365 - Day 19 - Birthday Party!
I am kinda cheating on Tuesday's picture! Abigail's birthday party is coming up and she picked out these invitations. They are made to look like tickets. The Jonas Brothers are her favorite right now and she is doing her whole party in them! We just got the invites yesterday so we thought we would share them!

Project 365 - Day 18 - Kisses for Everyone!

Abigail has gotten used to my picture a day by now. The last few days she has asked me what picture I am going to take for today. Well tonight she asked and I replied that I don't know yet. She then asked if she could take the picture for me. She is actually a pretty good little photographer and I didn't have a plan for today, so I agreed. I thought she would want to take a picture of one of her toys. Nope. She said she wanted to take a picture of mommy and daddy kissing like when we got married.

So here is our picture kissing taken by my almost six year old daughter. While we were taking the picture our dog Maggie came into the room. Maggie LOVES to give kisses. If you make the kissy sound while kissing someone, she goes crazy trying to join in.

So, we had to take another picture with the three of us kissing. Then as we are about to tuck her into bed for the night, she says she has an idea. Ready for her idea??

She wanted a picture of ALL of us kissing!! I was holding the camera while Chris pushed the button. I was making some weird face, and I'm not quite sure what Chris was doing but I just LOVE this picture!! Abigail was cracking up and Maggie was having a blast kissing everyone!

Project 365 - Day 17

Sunday, January 17, 2010 - Day 17

Abigail got a Glo Doodle for Christmas and it just got opened up yesterday! I think that means she got too much stuff for Christmas!! Anyway, she had so much fun playing with it. It is actually a pretty fun little toy. We all took a turn drawing or tracing something on it and then turning out the lights to see how it looked!!

Project 365 - Day 14 and 15

I fell asleep on the couch again last night. I am sure I am starting to sound like a broken record. I definitely have a trend going on here! Long story short, here are my pictures for the last two days.

January 15, 2010 - Day 15

Chris came with me to Gymboree today to pick up the stuff I had on hold. I was showing him the hats and he thought this one would fit him. I think it was a size 2-4 years!! LOL

January 14, 2010 - Day 14 - Abigail's Shop

Abigail decided to open up her own shop. She had it set up so nicely. I was very impressed! She had a section for toys, gift cards, food, and dog stuff. It was SO cute!! Unfortunately the battery on my camera was dead so I didn't get a picture of the original store. This pic is after it the battery had charged for a little bit and by then we had already shopped in her store!
