Project 365 - Day 18 - Kisses for Everyone!

Abigail has gotten used to my picture a day by now. The last few days she has asked me what picture I am going to take for today. Well tonight she asked and I replied that I don't know yet. She then asked if she could take the picture for me. She is actually a pretty good little photographer and I didn't have a plan for today, so I agreed. I thought she would want to take a picture of one of her toys. Nope. She said she wanted to take a picture of mommy and daddy kissing like when we got married.

So here is our picture kissing taken by my almost six year old daughter. While we were taking the picture our dog Maggie came into the room. Maggie LOVES to give kisses. If you make the kissy sound while kissing someone, she goes crazy trying to join in.

So, we had to take another picture with the three of us kissing. Then as we are about to tuck her into bed for the night, she says she has an idea. Ready for her idea??

She wanted a picture of ALL of us kissing!! I was holding the camera while Chris pushed the button. I was making some weird face, and I'm not quite sure what Chris was doing but I just LOVE this picture!! Abigail was cracking up and Maggie was having a blast kissing everyone!

Project 365 - Day 17

Sunday, January 17, 2010 - Day 17

Abigail got a Glo Doodle for Christmas and it just got opened up yesterday! I think that means she got too much stuff for Christmas!! Anyway, she had so much fun playing with it. It is actually a pretty fun little toy. We all took a turn drawing or tracing something on it and then turning out the lights to see how it looked!!

Project 365 - Day 14 and 15

I fell asleep on the couch again last night. I am sure I am starting to sound like a broken record. I definitely have a trend going on here! Long story short, here are my pictures for the last two days.

January 15, 2010 - Day 15

Chris came with me to Gymboree today to pick up the stuff I had on hold. I was showing him the hats and he thought this one would fit him. I think it was a size 2-4 years!! LOL

January 14, 2010 - Day 14 - Abigail's Shop

Abigail decided to open up her own shop. She had it set up so nicely. I was very impressed! She had a section for toys, gift cards, food, and dog stuff. It was SO cute!! Unfortunately the battery on my camera was dead so I didn't get a picture of the original store. This pic is after it the battery had charged for a little bit and by then we had already shopped in her store!

Project 365 - Day 12 and 13

Well, I did it again! I have felt sick all week long and I just can't get it together. I am ready for this week to be over! I fell asleep on the couch last night and again woke up around 3 in the morning!! Once again I took my picture on Tuesday, just didn't get to upload it.

Day 13 - Beads Galore!!
Abigail got 3 jewelry making sets for Christmas. We decided to open them all up and put them in one container. We had beads everywhere! I am sure she will have lots of fun making necklaces and bracelets for the both of us!

Day 12 - Fancy Nancy
Abigail got this Fancy Nancy doll for Christmas. She loves her!! She really enjoys reading the books and is enjoying spending time with Fancy Nancy! She has been sleeping with her, dancing with her, and talking to her. Fancy Nancy has even helped her with her homework!!

Project 365 - Day 9

Both of the kids stayed at their grandparents house last night and didn't come home until supper time. After eating they decided to play Mario and Sonic at the Olympics on the Wii. It was a pretty lazy day around here today. Tomorrow I have to get some work done!!

Project 365 - Day 8 - Saying Goodbye

This is Abigail with one of our current foster puppies, Bradford. He has finally been adopted and will be leaving us soon. He was supposed to be leaving today so we brought him in so Abigail could say goodbye. She has such a hard time when the puppies leave for their forever homes. Bradford has been with us for almost two months, so it is especially hard this time. He was so excited to see her and gave her lots of kisses!! I truly think my daughter will grow up to work with animals in some way. She loves them so much!!

Project 365 - Day 7 - Snow Day!!

It snowed today!! We were predicted 1-2 inches, and we ended up with maybe half an inch. Schools were cancelled last night at around 7:00 pm and it didn't even start snowing until 11:30 am! My kids were just as excited with our half an inch as they would have been if we had two inches!! We rarely see snow here, so they take what they can get. It was SO cold that they couldn't stay out too long, but they sure enjoyed the time they did spend in the snow. Most of their snow time consisted of throwing snowballs at each other. Unfortunately this is the best picture I was able to get. I must have been so cold I was shaking because all the other pictures were blurry! Abigail is about to nail Kyle with her snowball!! School has already been cancelled for tomorrow - due to the snow freezing into ice on the side streets. Yes, I live in the south and we just can't handle the snow/ice!!

Project 365 - Day 6

It's Girl Scout cookie time!! This is Abigail's first year as a Girl Scout. She is SO excited. Cookie sales started on Christmas Eve and we had our first meeting since sales started today. I came up with this goal chart so the girls could track their sales. She is a Daisy, so using the Daisy flower was perfect! I had set their goal at 50 boxes each, so the stem of the Daisy has 50 boxes on it. The inside of the Daisy says 'Daisy Values' and each petal represents one of the values. Every time they sell a box, they color in another box on their flower. She is only 3 boxes away from her goal!! Yay!! Don't forget to buy your cookies!!

Project 365 - Day 5

Today was the first day back to school after Christmas/Winter break. We were all way too lazy while the kids were out. We did a lot of - NOTHING!! This includes messing up our sleeping schedules. Needless to say my daughter didn't get much sleep last night, and I didn't either. I help out in the Art class at her school two days a week with the Kindergarten classes and ran into her teacher this morning. I informed her that Abigail would probally be dragging today, and she replied with "oh, she is!". Whoops!! When she got of school we had a snack, gave all the dogs a treat, read a book, and then CRASHED!! Today's picture shows the aftermath of the first day back to school! Here is Abigail with her daddy tapped out in the living room chair. I fell asleep on the couch, and woke up to the two of them snuggled up together.

Project 365 - Day 4

Today is the last day of Christmas/Winter Break. We thought we would end it with a trip to Chuck E. Cheese! The whole family went and we had a great time. We don't always have a great time on family outings - my son is a teenager through and through. I am definitely getting my payback for what I put my mom through! He mostly did his own thing while we were there, but he was happy so we were too! Today's picture is of my daughter Abigail. We were playing the game where you shoot water at a target and the line gets higher and higher. I won the first round and she won the second round. She was concentrating so hard in this pic!!

Project 365 - Day 1

Today is the start of my Project 365. I will be taking and posting a new picture every day for 365 days! This project sounds really awesome, so I am hoping to be able to keep up! I am definitely not the photographer that the other girls doing this project are so I apologize for that in advance! Christmas is my favorite time of the year. Since the new year is here, it is time to take down the Christmas decorations. So, I thought I would take this picture of an ornament on my tree. My daughter, Abigail, started Kindergarten this year. She made this ornament at school and it has her thumbprint as the reindeer. She was so PROUD of it and of course I LOVED it! Tomorrow it will be packed away for another year, but now I can look at it all year long!

Picture of the day!

Here is my picture for the day! This is my daugther Abigail. During fall break in October, we decided to take a girls trip! We went to Chattanooga, TN for a few days. While there we rode the Chattanooga Ducks. It was a sightseeing tour. We rode in one of those vehicles that can go on the road and then rides right into the water and works like a boat. She decided to sit in the very back and on the top. This is when it first took off on the road. The wind was blowing her hair everywhere - and she LOVED it! I thought it was so cute and snapped away!! I think this picture captured the moment perfectly!

Getting to Know Our Family!

I am starting this blog as a way to keep up with my family's adventures. I hope that this will be a great way of keeping track of all our memories. I often have trouble keeping up with things on paper, so I am hoping this will be much easier. I look forward to posting pictures of my beautiful kids, sharing some of the crazy things my daughter says, and just keeping up with our life in general.

We are a family of four. My name is Jennifer. I am 32 years old and am a stay at home mom. I love to take pictures, scrapbook (though I never have the time!), and spend time with my family. My husband is Chris and he is 33. He loves cars, especially Mustangs! He owns his own lawn care business and really enjoys it. We have been married for seven years and we have two wonderful kids. Our son Kyle just turned 15 and is a freshman in High School. He loves anything to do with sports, and of course video games! Our daughter Abigail will be 6 in January and is in Kindergarten this year. She loves everything girly and making beautiful artwork. Our kids are 9 years apart and you would think they wouldn't have anything to fight about, but apparently they do! We love to take vacations together. My husband doesn't like to venture as far away from home as we do, but we make him go anyway!

We have struggled with infertility for the last three years, following a miscarriage. It has been a long and hard road. It has affected my life in so many ways. I was severely depressed for about a year and feel like I was not the best mom I could have been to my children. It affected my marriage deeply, but somehow we managed to stick it out together. After three years, four different doctors including a fertility clinic, thousands of dollars, and many tears I have finally learned to let go and be happy with my life. I love my children deeply, but this has made me open my eyes appreciate them so much more.

We love dogs in our house! We have six dogs of our own and currently two foster puppies. Yes we are crazy! It started with two Schnauzers - Buddy and Max. Then one day a very skinny Boxer mix showed up at my house. We unsuccessfully tried to find her a home and didn't want her to become a statistic at the pound, so we kept her. Her name is Lucky and she is now a very healthy 80 pound dog! After my miscarriage my husband thought a small dog to keep in the house would be a good idea for me. So for Christmas that year I got Maggie - a Scottish Terrier. He was right. She is the best house dog! The next year Lucky and one of my Schnauzers mated. This resulted in Rocky and Molly. Since it was only two puppies, I somehow talked my husband into keeping them! Then because I was such a bad pet owner (SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS!), Rocky and Molly had puppies of their own - 10 puppies to be exact! My dad found a local lady that does rescue work and she helped to find them all a home. Since then all of my dogs have been spayed or neutered, except for Lucky (she has some health issues). The lady that does the dog rescue ended up talking me into taking care of puppies she has rescued while she finds them a home. It is the greatest! We have had nine puppies come and go since then. I wish I would have done it sooner!

We live in the same town that my husband and I both grew up in, and love it here. It is perfect for us! Luckily for us all of our family also lives in our town. My dad is retired and spends all his free time at our house! My mom lives on the other side of town, but comes by and visits regularly. My in laws live one street over from us. I have three best friends - one I have known since 1st grade and the other two since we were eleven!

I am on a couple of online groups, and one of them mentioned taking and posting a picture every day for a year. I really liked this idea and think I will go for it. I will start 1-1-10, but will post an older random picture of the day until then. I love sharing pictures! I look forward to starting this blog and sharing our life with everyone!
